Central Gippsland Flood Recovery Works

PROJECT
Central Gippsland Flood Recovery Works

DATE
2021

LOCATION
Walhalla, Tanjil Bren and Boolarra South

CLIENT
Fulton Hogan and Black Geotechnical

SECTOR
Civil and Structural Engineering, Hydrology

Working closely with Black Geotechnical and Fulton Hogan, we completed the design of major, tied-back retaining walls and high-risk bank stabilisation works following the June 2021 event that saw the collapse of sections of Main Road in Walhalla and damage to the Grand Ridge Road and Mount Baw Baw Tourist Road.

Black Geotechnical undertook the geotechnical investigation and design whilst we completed the civil and structural design works and documentation.

The project reached a successful fruition, with the new retaining structures designed to prevent future erosion and flood damage.
