Structural Design of Four Multi-Span Flood Relief Bridges on Warren Street.
As part of the $324M Echuca-Moama Bridge Project, jointly funded by the Australian, Victorian and NSW governments, we were commissioned to complete the structural redesign of four multi-span flood relief bridges along Warren Street, Echuca in order to improve cost outcomes and constructability.
To shorten the construction program and minimise public disruption, pier columns were removed and prestressed Super-T beams were utilised, resulting in fewer concrete pours and quicker superstructure construction. These structures had a total combined deck area of approximately 6000m2 and have greatly improved flood resiliency along Warren Street on the approach to the Campaspe and Murray River crossings.
