Following the destruction of the historic Genoa Bridge in the 2019/20 Black Summer Bushfires, we were engaged to provide urgent recommendations on the stability of the existing piers and subsequently provide design services for a replacement structure. It was determined that the piers were highly unstable, and as such, they were swiftly demolished.

The new steel truss and concrete deck bridge pays homage to its predecessor, originally constructed in 1926, utilising white steel trusses and high tensile rods to mimic the form of the existing timber structure.

The Genoa Bridge Replacement project received the Community Assets & Infrastructure Initiative Award $5m and Under at the 2024 LGPro awards ceremony.
